When did SHREE VEERA HANUMANTHEESHWARA TEMPLE first came in existence, is difficult to tell. However, the event may be assigned to the Pre-historic period. Temple History
21 March 1387 AD Thursday
In the inscription the period is Shakavarsha 1308A.D. and Kaliyuga year 4488 Prabhava Samvatsara Chaitra 1 is Thursday. Prabhava Samvatsara Corresponds to Sakavara 1309, So the burial of Thedi given here is 21st 1387 AD. The burial given here is correct on 21st March.
Veeradevarasa of the house of Harihara and Peddarasa of Mahamandaleshwar Vallabharya, the son of Mahamandaleshwar Vallabharaya, the son of Mahamandaleshwar Vallabharaya, offered a stone lamppost in front of the Ballalasamudra Kesava temple and sought the merit of his father and collected land for God’s Amritpadi. It is rare to find records of the Chalukya dynasty during the Vijayanagara period. In denoting the four quarters of the donated land, an agricultural implement is named Kourige, a tool used to make rows while sowing seeds on the land. It is still in use today
